I've heard that the local orchestra is decent, but I haven't had the time to go.

The CSO principal horn was really good - he was one of the best in the world - until about two years ago. I guess it's the age, he is now 69 or 70.erwinlauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00901820677898061217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10683382.post-39198128474186899822010-11-16T21:48:24.517-06:002010-11-16T21:48:24.517-06:00Erwin?! I hope you have a good orchestra to see, wherever you are.

Richard--I had not seen those videos. That was interesting, I couldn't hear real differences between his initial playing vs. post-Barenboim lessons, but Barenboim seemed pleased. lol. I wonder what Barenboim's real thoughts are regarding the three pianists he worked with that day. Also, Chicago looked really nice in those opening scenes (from the 1st video). I was surprised that I wasn't horrified at a winter scene, as I never look forward to the cold.keihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10395109777604139705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10683382.post-44382569464663903182010-11-14T18:03:30.567-06:002010-11-14T18:03:30.567-06:00haha snooty mordecai~

I really miss the CSO despite the faltering principal horn.erwinlauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00901820677898061217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10683382.post-60137862609161067452010-11-13T19:12:57.166-06:002010-11-13T19:12:57.166-06:00The student tickets are a good deal; it was easy t...The student tickets are a good deal; it was easy to get them on the weekday, the day before the concert. I've heard about the Millennium Park stuff--the instruments are OK out in the wild?! I'd be afraid of sirens ruining things. Maybe that would make it more fun though.keihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10395109777604139705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10683382.post-19312174358478052572010-11-13T11:51:41.357-06:002010-11-13T11:51:41.357-06:00ive been to lazy to go to concert. i gotta start d...ive been to lazy to go to concert. i gotta start doing it. u should go to some of the annual summer concerts at millennium park. they do a wide variety of great stuff. and ucan also pack a picnic for the lawnweshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17790979774056781863noreply@blogger.com
